ABOUT:
Ethica Roasters is a specialty roastery that provides you with a great variety of coffee the world has to offer. At their place you’ll find yourself leaving your daily tensions behind, inspired by a moment of honest & thoughtful reflection. Combining our ideas and possibilities so far we created such projects:
– 200 ╳ 300 cm canvas called Reborn Freedom;
– 100 ╳ 100 cm canvas called Energy Tree;
– 500 custom coffee cups ––– each lettered by hand;

REBORN FREEDOM

First work of this collab is dedicated to one’s freedom from physical and moral chains. Nowadays we create these chains for ourselves which stop us from achieving our goals and dreams. So to become a free person, you have to understand what freedom means to you. After you achieve it you’ll most likely stay a free person despite the changing environment and new psychological factors.
The other idea of this work is obvious rebirth of our society that is still happening due to the pandemic issue. We don’t know how much time the changes require but one thing for sure, we won’t get back to our past lives.
And to highlight the presence of related topics, the Phoenix is used as it has been considered as a universal symbol of freedom throughout the times. Stylized with 4 calligraphic quotes about freedom in red ╳ golden ╳ black colors this silhouette might become a new symbol of 2021.

This canvas was about desire. Desire drives each of us. Desire gives us energy to reach our goals, our dreams because if we want something we will do it no matter what.

Collected all my thoughts about human energy and poured them onto the new canvas through a few different quotes:
– A man doesn’t need brilliance or genius, all he needs is energy.
– Our energy is in proportion to the resistance it meets.
– Energy will do anything that can be done in the world; and no talents, no circumstances, no opportunities will make a two-legged animal a man without it.
– When you are enthusiastic about what you do, you feel this positive energy. It's very simple.

I lettered various words on top of 500 coffee cups which took me 17+ hours of work. The cups were free and limited to 500 only, made to help enjoy the spring weather together with a tasty cup of coffee.

Who doesn't love vinyl? Together with Ethica we created custom vinyl disks with short quotes about music/inspiration/creativity and many more. You can still come and get these small pieces of art at 213 Sterling Rd, Toronto. Enjoy the music ╳ creativity through the new lens of calligrafuturism.
